Just checked with Dad checking on he and Marilyn.
He is feeling a little better than he has the last few days. He had his therapy in bed today trying to get as much rest as possible. Marilyn was doing pretty well considering dad says. She has been working on her speech therapy again with the nurse and making a little progress dad says.
He and Marlyn asked that we let everyone know they wish everyone a Happy New Year…

I stopped in yesterday afternoon to check on Dad & Marilyn and they were both doing well considering. Dad was up in his Z-Chair and Marilyn was resting. Dad said that they both had been doing pretty well overall. He has had some issues with both his oxygen level and his feeding tube. He is checking into the possibility of going on his CPAP at night and wants to change out his wants to feeding tube once his strength is up and he can get that arranged with the Doctor.
Dad said to make sure and wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I just got off the phone with Dad. He and Marilyn are doing fine and asked that I send everyone a Merry Xmas and their love. They have had a lot of visitors to the home this past week from local churches and people in the Inola community. They said they were showered with love and care from those they didn’t even know. Many people brought throw blankets, body lotions and many other things they could all use in the facility. Dad said he had never experienced such an outpouring of love and care from those he didn’t even know. They are both very happy with their new home and that everyone is doing a great job in their care. All seems to be very good for them.
I am planning on going back to see them the week of January 14th. I will keep you posted through the blog.

Floyd called this evening saying that he had the blah’s. He said that this being the first Christmas since the accident was tough. He said that he and Marilyn enjoyed the Christmas holidays in the past.
He reflected on what they had gone thru in the last 6 months. He said Marilyn was somewhat sad also. We talked for a quite a while, and he said that he was glad he called.

Was greeted by a smiling, Santa wearing hat Floyd at the door when I got to Inola. Floyd said that he is so happy to be back at Inola.
Marilyn was awake and smiling when I went in to see her. She had several cards and letters that had come in and I read them to her and hung the cards up on the door.
A Boy Scouts troop came by and gave Marilyn and Floyd each a card and a gift made by the troop. Marilyn thanked the kids.
I took them the movie, The King Of The Mountain, it is a documentary movie that was made about the rivalry between Jenks and Union high school football teams. Marilyn really enjoyed the movie as did Floyd.
Nurse came in and told Marilyn that she would have her whirlpool bath tomorrow instead of today, that was OK with her.
I didn’t stay but a couple of hours as they were calling for snow, I made it almost home before the snow started to fall. Marilyn didn’t want me to leave, but I told her that the weather was getting ready to turn bad and she OK’d me to go ahead.
Both Marilyn and Floyd seem so much more content than they did in the hospital.

Chris thanks for all your continued support and the Good News…
Yes at last Dad and Marilyn are back together again. Dad is settled in and much happier back in Inola with Marilyn. I spent about half the day today in Inola making sure Dad was settled in and happy & checking on Marilyn and making sure she was happy and as comfortable as possible as well.
I took the Inola Health Care Staff some Christmas treats from all of us for taking such good care of them. Cookies, Candy, Chocolate and Chocolate covered Pretzels. I took Dad a few personal items to include a Santa Hat and he had a lot of fun with that (Got him a lot of attention :-)). I took Marilyn a beautiful Poinsettia Plant and they both seemed much more at ease knowing they where both together again.
While I was there Katie Reiss & her German friend Terri dropped in and brought them a beautiful Christmas wreath for their door. Also, Don Ross stopped in and he brought Marilyn a Poster of the Jenks State Champ Football Team as well as a fully autographed football. She really smiled and you could tell it really touched her heart! Don also brought them a beautiful Spiritual CD for the both of them.
I called again tonight to check on them and Dad said he had even more visitors today after I left and that Doyle and Violet had stopped in to see them. He said they were both doing very well and happy to be back together again.
Then after everyone left IHC had a Christmas Party tonight for all their patients. So needless to say they both had a full day!
He said that he will probably sleep better than he has in a while being back in Inola with Marilyn!

Floyd called this morning to let me know that he is FINALLY back in Inola. He said that Marilyn smiled when he went into the room. He is so happy to be back there.
Floyd said that they have changed his room all around at the nursing home and he does not like it, the nurses told him they would change it back to the way it was.
Told him that I would be up over the weekend.

Dad is doing OK today overall… other than he is anxious to get back to Inola with Marilyn. According to Gail at Inola it appears they will be moving him to Inola first thing in the morning as long as all goes well this evening.
Marilyn had a good night last evening and is having a good day today according to Annette her nurse she has been smiling more and more each day!

Visited with Floyd last night and he is very anxious to get out of St. Francis and back to Inola. He said that they keep telling him that his oxgyen level is low and that they are just trying to get him hooked up on to another machine. While I was there he had the nurse check his oxgyen level and it was at 97%. He is hoping that Dr. Kennedy will come by on Thursday and release him.
He said that he feels good, not in pain he said he is just frustrated with St. Francis. He still has his humor and his color is good.
This weekend I hope to go and visit Marilyn in Inola.

Dad had a really tough night last night. His Oxygen level dropped overnight and the nurse asked that I try to locate his sleep apnea machine. So I’m headed to their house this morning to pick it up and take to the hospital.
I talked with Annette Marilyn’s nurse at Inola Health Care this morning and Marilyn is doing well!
