I just recieved a call from Dawn Booze the Social worker over the 5th floor ICU. She informed me that Marilyn is in the process of being transported back to Inola Health Care this morning. I immediately called to let Dad know and to check on him and he said that he is doing well but still is not sure as to when he will be released! So I then called the Social Worker on the 4th Floor and he is give me an update once he has the information! I just recieved a call back from Mark Dad’s Social worker and he said they are hoping to remove his Trach and still have to make sure is has healed from surgery before they release him.
I will be returning to Tulsa this coming Tuesday!

Marilyn was sleeping when I went in when she woke she said she was really tired. They had just given her a bath and washed her hair. The Inola ventilator was hooked up by her bedside, to make sure everything was compatible before she is to be moved back. I sat with her for approx 1 1/2 hours. Marilyn kept saying she was sorry she was so sleepy, told her not a problem and that I would go and check on Floyd she nodded OK.
When I went to visit Floyd the nurse’s had just gone into his room, I waited for approx 45 minutes and still could not see him. Nurse at the desk said she did not know how long they would be in there. I left and called him later to check on him. Floyd said that he was still hurting at the site of his Gall Bladder surgery. He said he had a new treach put in and it was more comfortable. He still does not know when he will go back to Inola.

Called and checked on Dad & Marilyn today and they are both still recovering nicely. Dad was a little tired and indicated he is ready to get back to Inola ASAP.
According to Carol Marilyn’s nurse she is doing well considering and the Respiratory Therapist was switching her back to her home vent in preparation for discharge in the next couple of days!
They should both be back in Inola by the end of this coming week if all goes well.
I will be back in Tulsa this coming week as well to be able to check in on them!

Visted with Marilyn she said that she was in pain. Her nurse Jill came in and gave her a pain shot. It took quite a while to work and she was restless. Marilyn told me that she was getting sleepy and may go to sleep. I told her that I would go and visit with Floyd, she nodded her head and I left.
Floyd was watching TV and he said that he was hurting a little more this evening than before, but he said that was to be expected. He said that they could not tell him when they would return to Inola and his best guess would be sometime next week. Overall he was in good spirits.

Just talked with Dad and he is recovering nicely and expects to be discharged next-week.
Also, I just checked on Marilyn and she is doing well considering and in good spirits according to here nurse Tom all vitals are good and she is recovering nicely they just replaced her Trach for one that much more comfortable. Marilyn should be discharged some time next week as well. I will keep you posted as we recieve updates. I’m currently in San Diego trying to catch up my business but returning back to Tulsa early next week!

Floyd was sitting up in bed watching TV when I visited him this evening. He said that his surgery went well this morning and he was feeling pretty good. He said that he had a little pain, but not too bad. He said that he was glad it was all behind him and was looking forward to starting to feel better again. He is looking forward to getting back to Inola and wasn’t sure when that would be due to the weather conditions here.
Marilyn was really down this evening. Told her that Floyd’s surgery went well and that he was sitting up in bed watching TV. Marilyn asked what were they going to do with her? After some discussion she was wondering when she would be going back to Inola, I asked her if she was wanting to get back there and she said that she didn’t care. Visited some more with her and told her about all the ice we have here and all the power outages that have been going on. She said that she was not in any pain, just had the blah’s.

Dad has just been released back to his room. His room number is 4105 (4 West). The direct line to his room is 918-494-4105. The nurse told me to go ahead and call his room direct and if he answers that must mean he wants to talk. The nurse said he is through recovery and doing very well. I just tried to reach him and no one answered. I will try back later and update the blog as I learn more about his recovery process.
The last word I heard was Marilyn is recovering well. She should be released back to Inola soon although the
Oklahoma inclement weather may delay her trip. I will try to learn more about her expected release and post the update as soon as possible.
Al is on his way to the airport and will hopefully be able to get on his flight to
San Diego this afternoon. Al is planning on returning to
Tulsa for Christmas and New Years. I am planning my next trip to
Tulsa sometime in January.

Marilyn was really sleepy this morning when I visited, she could barley keep her eyes open. Nurse said that her blood pressure was a little low this am. I was surprised on Thursday how alert Marilyn was after her surgery, she was able to mouth words and she indicated that she was not in any pain.
Floyd was sitting up in the chair, just had his shower and said that he was feeling good. Dr. came in while I was there and confirmed that they were still planning on surgery, Tuesday and that he could possibly be back in Inola by the weekend. This made Floyd very happy.
Marilyn’s sister Chris returned home today to St. Louis after spending 5 days here to sit with Marilyn and visit Floyd.

Dad & Marilyn are both doing fairly well this morning considering. They areboth still in St. Francis Hospital. Marilyn is in the ICU on the 5th floor and Dad is on the 4th floor in room 4128.
