Just called to check on Marilyn and she is doing well according to Brenda her nurse. Her vitals are still all strong and she still appears to be in good spirits considering. It appears that she will be going back to Inola tomorrow.

Marilyn was sleeping when I arrived this evening. Her nurse came in and said that she had just given her medicine about 15 minutes ago. Nurse said that Marilyn was doing good, she said that they were going to send Marilyn to Inola this afternoon, but Dr. Pitcock said that she needs to stay another day. I asked if she was going to Inola tomorrow and she said that she did not know. Marilyn is still on the Inola ventilator.
Marilyn was really having a hard time keeping her eyes open, I sat with her for approx 30 minutes and told her nurse that I was leaving. Marilyn seemed comfortable.

Marilyn was alert and pleased to see my daughter Tanya and I visit her today. Gave her several messages from SWB friends who sent their condolences about Floyd’s passing.
The ventilator from Inola was in her room, so I guess she will be going back to the nursing home either tomorrow or Tuesday. I asked Marilyn if she knew when? and she did not, her nurse was not sure either. I guess I will find out tomorrow when I go visit.
Marilyn said that she was not hurting and was feeling comfortable today.

Went I went to visit Marilyn today I ran into Jane and Jim Martin who had just come from visiting Marilyn. While talking to Jane and Jim Doyle and Violet Crain came by. Marilyn said that she felt a little moody today. Told her that I ran into Jane and Jim and she said that she had a good visit with them. Doyle and Violet visited with Marilyn .
The Inola ventilator has not yet been delivered to St. Francis I imagine it will be Monday at the earliest. Marilyn talked about going back to Inola and she said that she wants to have a private room and not share one with someone else, she said she talked to Al about this. Marilyn then told me I needed to get her paperwork for her meds taken care of. I tried to explain to her that the hospital has all her meds and she said no for when she goes to Inola. Tried to explain that she would not need any there and she kept insisting I get the paperwork, I finally told her that I would check on it for her, and she seeemed satisfied.
We watched the GB - Seahawks game and she was enjoying watching it. All considering she seemed to be doing pretty good today and she was glad to have had visitors.

I met with Al this morning at St. Francis to deliver the sad news to Marilyn of Floyd’s passing. Al told Marilyn about Floyd. Marilyn was obviously upset but handled the news surprisingly well. St Francis had a Nun, a Priest a Social Worker and RN on hand to help if needed. They got a voice box so that Marilyn could talk to Al and ask any questions. We were there for approx 1 1/2 hours and the nurse came in to give her her pain meds.
I went back up after work, I asked Marilyn if she remembered Al & I being up this morning and she nodded yes. I asked her if she remembered what Al had told her and she nodded yes and mouthed “about Floyd”. She said that she was really sleepy and I asked her if she wanted me to leave and she said no. Told her to rest and that I would stay here with her till 6.15p as they really want you out for shift change. Al came up and he talked to Marilyn about the arrangements that had been taken care of for Floyd. Marilyn was getting tired and Al asked her if we should leave and she nodded yes.
Marilyn will be in St Francis at least thru Monday possibly longer before returning to Inola.

We want to thank everyone for all of the support you have provided Dad and the family through the last 6 months. Your prayers have been felt and much appreciated. Dad passed this morning in peace and our thoughts are with making things as comfortable for his wife, Marilyn, as we can. We will keep you posted on Marilyn and her plans through this blog.
There will be no viewing, services or funeral. My Dad had explicit instructions, written and verbal, that “when he went, that was it”. He did not want any viewing, services or funeral. He will be cremated the first of next week and put to rest in his urn and buried at Floral Haven Cemetery, Tulsa, OK. All arrangements were previously made and are fully taken care of.

Unfortunetly I must inform everyone that Dad passed this morning at 5:40 a.m. .
Marilyn is doing ok considering Chris Roberts and myself are on our way to let her know about dad!

Visited Marilyn this evening she was sleeping when I went in, I touched her arm and she woke up. We talked for a little while and she dozed of and on. She said that she was feeling cold, so I put another sheet on her.
Nurse came in and said that Marilyn was a little agitated today and wanted to be put in a chair. Nurse said that they raised her bed up but that didn’t work for Marilyn and they laid her back down. Nurse also said that at one point they had a difficult time with one of her suctions. Marilyn heard the nurse talking and she just rolled her eyes and smiled.
Floyd called me today to say that Marilyn’s Dr. had ordered the Inola ventilator to be brought to St. Francis, it was not there this evening when I was there. Floyd said that he is feeling pretty good today

I just got off the phone with Marilyn’s Doctor Pitcock and she is recovering nicely so far. He is ordering her home vent today so she can be released back to Inola tomorrow Friday 1/11/2008.
Dad is feeling better today I just got off the phone letting him know the update from St. Francis and he seemed relieved.
