Ok Folks,
I just returned from getting Marilyn settled back in Inola. She is back in her same room however, she seemed a litte restless this afternoon and very tired. I remained there until we got her comfortable and settled. She said she wanted to rest and seemed to be settling in ok. I made sure they got her stablized and back on her feeding tube and that they were giving her a little extra effort to make her feel special. Then I asked if she was ready to rest and she said yes and I then asked if she was ok with me leaving so she could rest and she said yes. So I did indeed leave.
I will be leaving for San Diego this Monday not returning for about 10 days!
For all that do take the time to visit her please make sure she has her feeding tube turned on if not please ask the nurse about it. Also, if you see that she is in pain please ask the nurse to see if there is any thing they can do like pain medication!
Thanks again for all your prayers and support!

I just talked with Tammy her nurse and she said that Marilyn had a good evening considering. Was well rested all vitals appear to be strong and she is well on her way for recovery from the UTI. They currently show no orders to go back to Inola so it appears that she will be there over the weekend.
Thanks again for your prayers and support!

Went to visit Marilyn today, she seemed very tired and sleepy, I asked her if she was sleepy and she said no. Marilyn said that she may go back to Inola tomorrow, asked her if nurse told her that and she shook her head no. I asked her who told her and she said she just knew. Nurses came in twice while I was visiting, asked if they knew if Marilyn was leaving tomorrow and they did not know. We talked for a little while. Had a really difficult time trying to read her lips today for some reason. Asked if she was in pain at all and she shook her head no.
They do have valet parking there during the day by the main entrance. I found out about it too late, will use it next time!!!

I went to St. Johns this evening to check on Marilyn and she was doing fine considering. She was resting when I got there and once I said hi she immediately opened her eyes and smiled. According to Karen it appears that she only has a UTI and not pneumonia as previously thought. We visited as best we could for about an hour and a half and then it was time to make sure she was comfortable and leave for the evening. As I was leaving the nurse Karen ask me if Marilyn was a DNR patient and I told he that was up to Marilyn as to what she wanted. So I went in to help the nurse and ask her and Marilyn said that she did not want to be a DNR patient that she wanted them to do all they could to necessitate if needed! Once we were able to determine her wishes and I made sure she was OK I then left for the evening.
Thanks again for your continued prayers and support.

I called St. Johns to check on Marilyn this morning and I talked with the ICU Nurse Marie. Marie said she is doing well considering other than her blood pressure is a little high. However, she is reacting to the medication and it is starting to come down. Marie informed me that they would be moving her out to the main floor sometime today if all goes well!
Thanks again for your continued prayers and support!

Before I left the office this evening I thought I would check to see what room Marilyn was in at St. Francis, hospital operator told me she was not admitted. I headed up to St. Francis to check with admissions feeling this was just an error. Well the hospital operator was right Marilyn was not in St. Francis. I called Al and he said that he would call back which he did. Apparently she set out to be at St. Francis but the ambulance was diverted to St. Johns due to an emergency situation at St. Francis.
Headed to St. Johns and went to ER was told that she was admitted to 8th floor room 823. Get to the 8th floor and all I can find is the sleep disorder unit and women’s breast unit. I knew that Marilyn was having trouble sleeping but I didn’t think this was where she was admitted to.!!!! Finally found someone to ask and I was in the wrong tower. Had to go down to the sixth floor go round a corner thru a walk way get on another elevator go to another 8th floor.
St. Johns is not for the directionally challenged people like me.
Finally find the ICU and they won’t let me go back until 8.00pm, they said that if they got thru getting Marilyn settled before they would let me in.
At 8.15p I got to FINALLY see Marilyn, she was sleeping, rubbed her arm and she woke up.
She was smiling.
Asked her if she was hurting any and she shook her head no.
Talked with her for a while and told her that she was in
St. Johns hospital and explained why, she seemed ok with being there.
Told her about my fiasco to get to the right floor and she smiled and mouthed that’s normal for you.
Nurse said that she was going to give Marilyn her evening bath and get her settled for the night. Nurse also said that she did not have pneumonia but had a urinary tract infection and she said that she really is not sick enough to be in ICU but all patients that do come in on a ventilator are automatically placed on ICU. Her nurse was very caring and kind.
