This evening Marilyn was very quite and sleepy, she was getting a breathing treatment when I went in. Asked her how she was feeling and she shrugged her shoulders and mouthed OK. I could not hear her talk this evening, had to read her lips.
Her lips seemed really sore and dry, put some lip balm on and she said they hurt. Asked if she wanted me to put cream on her arms and legs and she nodded no.
Marilyn asked if I had heard from Al I told her that he was at home and would not be up to see her for a while as he could not drive for approx 6 weeks, she nodded her head.
Read her mail to her and stayed with her till around 7.15pm.

Visited Marilyn this evening, she was alert and cheerful when I went in. Read her mail to her and she wanted her cards re-arranged. You could hear her verbalize almost every word this evening. It was great. Marilyn asked me to bring her a coat from the house, I asked her which one and she said anyone will do, then she said she didn’t need a coat. A little later she asked me to get her shoes out of her closet in her room. I showed her there were no shoes there, she was a little agitated with me insisting her shoes were there. I asked where was she going with her coat and shoes and she shrugged her shoulders and said “I guess no where”.
I noticed that she was coughing a lot this evening, asked her if she needed to be suctioned and she said yes. Went to get the nurse and Marilyn said when I got back in the room, “if she doesn’t hurry up I will have to go up the stairs and get it done”. The nurse came in and suctioned Marilyn.
For a while Marilyn was doing good, her mind seemed clear and then she would talk about something completely different. I asked the nurse if she was on different meds and she said no.
Changed her calendar to the correct day, we had quite a discussion with what month it was. Marilyn was sure it was Feb. but we did get it sorted out.
Told her about Al’s surgery and she said that she knew about it that he had called up and said it went well.
Around 7.00 I told Marilyn that I needed to go she begged me not to leave, I stayed until after 7.30 and told her I would be up Mon or Tue to see her again and she said OK.
Jim and Jane Martin and Doyle Crain had been to visit this week.

I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks for all your prayers and support! I was discharged from the hospital today at about 2:30. The surgery was a tremendous success based on the results to date. I was up and walking about 4 hours after surgery on Wednesday and walked quite a bit yesterday. The Doctor would have discharged me yesterday but I wanted to get the pain medication worked out as Morphine was awesome but the Lori-tab did not agree with me at all. We settled on Percocet as it seems to take care of the pain and does not make me nauseous like the Lori-tab.
I return to the doctor in about six weeks between now and then I’m on home therapy!
Thanks again for your continued prayers and support!

Al has been moved to room # 5129. The direct phone number to his room is 918-494-5129. Considering he is pretty doped up and needs his rest it would be best he not receive any calls till tomorrow (Thursday – 3-27-08). He probably wouldn’t remember if you called today anyway and you couldn’t make since of what he was saying.

Visited Marilyn after work this evening, she was sleeping when I went into her room, after rubbing her arm she woke up. I asked her if she enjoyed all the company she had last week, she smiled and verbalized “Oh Yea”.
We talked a little about all the company she had and I then read her mail to her, she got several cards and letters over the weekend. I hung her Easter cards under her TV so she could see them.
Marilyn kept falling to sleep and said she was sorry, told her it was OK and I left around 7.00pm. Before I left I asked her if she needed anything and she shook her head No.

Hello Everyone and Happy Easter from Marilyn and the rest of the Rosson Family…
Floyd Jr., Susan his lovely wife and I went out and spent some time with Marilyn this afternoon before Floyd and Susan have to take off tomorrow. She seemed to be in a really good mood and was feeling pretty well considering. She asked us to wish everyone a Happy Easter.
Marilyn’s Sisters from St. Louis and Brother and Sister In-law were out to visit for a few days this week and she had mentioned that she really enjoyed their visit. Our Uncle Doyle and his wife were out to see her as well yesterday along with Doyle and his wife our Uncle Joe from San Diego was out on Wednesday and they had a good visit as well!
