I called to check on Marilyn this morning and talked to her nurse Brittin. Brittin said that she seemed to be doing well considering and that she was resting this morning. Brittin also said that it appeared they would keep her through the early part of next week and then arrange for her to go back to Inola as long as things continue to go well!
I asked Brittin to let her know that I would be coming home this weekend and would be up to see her soon.

Visited with Marilyn today, she was sitting up in bed and wide awake. She could verbalize today which was good. Her bed was up so straight that she couldn’t see TV, checked with nurse and lowered it down some. Took her chap stick to her but nurse had found some for her. Asked me to put some on for her. Marilyn said that she was feeling pretty good today.
I noticed that her hair had been washed and asked if they washed her hair and she said they tried to. Asked her what she meant and she said I told them to stop as that was why she keeps getting pneumonia. Marilyn then said what was that all about on Monday? asked her where and she said you know, asked her if something happened at the nursing home? she said no over at the school, Jenks school? yes, told her that I didn’t know, she said well we were both over there don’t you remember? So I told her I would try and find out what happened.. That seemed to satisfy her.
We chit chatted for a little bit, was good to see her alert and able to talk.

Well the doctors told us yesterday that they are truly amazed at how fast her kidneys are failing and that they have no idea what is causing her kidneys to fail. After all the tests including a CAT scan, complete blood work and Biopsy they still have no answers. They are expediting the results up to Mayo Clinic for further analysis. They mentioned when they called Mayo that based on her rapid failure she is months to weeks to having to go on kidney dialysis.
Please keep her in your prayers as we work our way through this!

Marilyn was awake when I went in this evening to visit. Talked to her nurse and she said that she had a good day, was hurting a little earlier but comfortable now.
Marilyn could not verbalize so I had to read her lips. She did not remember that I was there yesterday to visit. She was wanting some chap stick, could not find any but did find some cream to put on her lips. Bought some to take up to her next time I go up. I will go on my lunch hour to visit as I have plans for this evening.
Was good to be able to converse with Marilyn, as the last few visits she was sleeping.

I called to check on Marilyn this afternoon and talked with Katie her nurse. Katie said that she was doing fine but had complained about having a headache and they gave her medication to help and that she had been sleeping most of the day. Katie said that the doctors wanted to keep her under observation for a while longer and that all seems to be going ok considering.

Went to visit Marilyn at St. Francis this evening, she was sleeping when I went into her room. I said Hi to Marilyn and she tried to open her eyes but couldn’t. I asked her if she knew where she was and she verbalized St. Francis, asked her when she got here and she said this morning. Tried to talk to her but could not get any more response from her. I stayed with her until 6.00pm and had to leave, told her I would come by tomorrow evening and she nodded her head slightly.

Unfortunately Marilyn started running a fever last night and was admitted to St. Francis ICU room 4442 for observation. According to her nurse at St Franci this g she is on anti-biotics and her fever is gone this morning she is doing fine considering and says she feels ok according to her nurse.

Called to check on Marilyn today and talked to Stephanie her nurse! Stephanie said that she was doing ok considering and that all was about the same.
I asked Stephanie to please let her know that I called and that I’m still in San Diego and I would be out as soon as I return.
