Marilyn Update

Posted in Floyd & Marilyn at 11:15 pm by Chris Roberts

Marilyn’s brother Claire and sister-in-law Margot have been in to visit with Marilyn from the 12th thru tomorrow. Talked with them this evening and they said that Marilyn has been able to be awake most of the time and that they are having a good visit.

Marilyn’s sister Dee is due to be in town tomorrow for a few days. So glad that she is having some company, I am sure she is enjoying having her family with her.

Marilyn Visit 7-11-08

Posted in Floyd & Marilyn at 11:22 pm by Chris Roberts

Marilyn was awake and watching TV when I went to visit her this evening. She was only able to verbalize a little this evening.  She asked me to raise her bed up so she could try and talk better, it did help a little.  Told Marilyn that I was glad that she was awake as she could not wake up when I there the other evening.  She said you should have woke me up, told her that I tried but that she was too tired.

Reminded Marilyn that her brother Claire and Margot her sister-in- law would be here tomorrow and she said she was glad they were coming.  Her mind seemed clear this evening and she did not fall asleep while I was there.  She asked for some chap stick to be put on. Read her card that came from Cheryl to her and she wanted it to be hung up on the door.  Her calendar was still on the 8th of July, she said she didn’t know what day it was.

Had a good visit this evening  I left around 8.30pm.

Marilyn Visit 7-8-08

Posted in Floyd & Marilyn at 12:58 am by Chris Roberts

I visited Marilyn Tuesday evening, she was sleeping when I went in.  After a little while I rubbed her arm and she did not stir. I called her name and she tried to open her eyes, but just couldn’t, she smiled a little.  I asked her if she was feeling alright and she barely nodded her head. I tried to talk to her several times but she did not respond, she was in a very deep sleep.

I stayed for approx another 30 minutes and she did not wake up.  Doyle and Virginia had been up to visit over the weekend.

Tanya Status Update…

Posted in Al & Tanya at 10:25 pm by Al Rosson

OK Folks,

Tanya has decided to do the kidney Transplant here in Tulsa at St. Francis Hospital. She is trying to eliminate going on dialysis and would like to have a live donor. Unfortunately her family has a history of kidney issues so her family is not good candidates for being a donor. I volunteered immediately but I am a type A + and she can only take a B or O + or -.

We had a Kidney transplant Pre-Op surgery consult today at St, Francis Hospital and all went well.

If anyone is interested in being a Kidney Donor you can contact Teri Roberts at St. Francis 918-502-3900. Teri is the Transplant Coordinator Supervisor and said to ask for her or Kara. Please remember that she can only take a kidney from a type B or O blood type doesn’t matter if it you are B+ or - or O+ or -.

We are praying that the right person will come forward soon and donate the kidney that God intends her to have.

Just so you know the donor surgery today is Laparoscopic less intrusive than of the past, and the cost is paid for by Tanya’s insurance.

Thanks again for all your continued prayers and support!

Marilyn Visit 7-4-08

Posted in Floyd & Marilyn at 5:49 pm by Chris Roberts

Just got back from visiting with Marilyn, she was sleeping when I first went in.  When she woke up the first thing she said was that Al was home, asked her if he had been to see her and she verbalized yes today.  We chatted for a while and in between she kept falling asleep, asked her if she wanted me to leave and let her get some rest, she said no watch TV.

Told her that Claire and Margot would be in this month and she said she knew that, they would be here on the 22nd good good.  Told her I thought it was the 12th but she insisted the 22nd.  Nurse came in to check on her a couple of times while I was there, I said she is really sleeping and she said she has been sleeping a lot lately.  Marilyn didn’t wake up while the nurse and I were talking.

I left around 5.00pm

Marilyn visit and status update!

Posted in Floyd & Marilyn at 3:43 pm by Al Rosson

I went by to visit Marilyn and wish her a Happy 4th and she was doing well considering. I took her a small US Flag and took the nurses 5 bags of candy all different types.

I saw that Dean and Katie had taken her some flowers and Claire and Margot had sent her  a Family Reunion card of which I read to her. I told her that they would be coming in town on the 12th to see her and she smiled.

We talked about Tanya’s need a kidney transplant and she then rested and went to sleep. I stay for about another half hour then let her know I would be taking off and I made sure she was comfortable and she said yes.

Thanks again for your continued prayers and support!

Tanya Status Update…

Posted in Al & Tanya at 6:08 pm by Al Rosson

Well we just got in from MN and the trip went well considering.

Tanya received the news from Mayo Clinic late Friday that she is a B positive blood type and that she can only receive a kidney from an type O or B blood type.

After giving it serious thought she has decided to move in that direction and wants to try to avoid dialysis all together if possible.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support!

Marilyn Visit 6-30-08

Posted in Floyd & Marilyn at 2:43 pm by Chris Roberts

Marilyn was sleeping this evening when I went in, rubbed her arm and she woke up.  She immediately asked what is the date.  Showed her that it was June 30th and she just wrinkled her nose, asked her what was that for and she mouthed you know. I said the day of your wreck a year ago and she nodded her head and closed her eyes.

Marilyn was not able to verbalize this evening asked her if she could talk and she shook her head no.  She was very quite this evening and didn’t seem to want to talk.  She was coughing a lot and nurse had to come and check on her several times. Nurse did suction her, but she was still coughing very hard.

Doyle and his wife had been to visit on Sunday.
