Posted in Uncategorized at 12:36 pm by Al Rosson

We wanted to let everyone know that the family has decided to schedule a memorial service at Floral Haven in Broken Arrow, OK on January 24th 2009 at 10:00 a.m. . www.FloralHaven.com it will be held in their chapel followed by a brunch in their family services facility located at 6500 S 129th East Ave., Broken Arrow, OK 74012

Due to family members that would not be able to attend immediately that ran us into the holidays and we all felt that it would be best to have it after the first of the year.

We also would like to let everyone know that we have set up a memorial in her name and we have chosen a ministry very dear to our family. Our Uncle Doyle runs a Ministry called “Who you are in Jesus” and if you would like to make a donation in her name please do so through his ministry.

Marilyn Visit 10-27-08

I could not get Marilyn to wake up last night when I visited.  Talked to her nurse, and she said that she had been given some anxiety meds about an hour ago, and that is why she is fast asleep.

When visiting Marilyn you need to wear a gown and mask.  I would suggest that you use gloves also.  Marilyn is considered in isolation due to infection. You will find them on the chair in her room.

Marilyn was really sleepy this evening, she was having a hard time keeping her eyes open.  She said that she felt OK just tired.  Talked about how the weather had really changed and was cold and windy outside.

Her right ankle had a dressing on it this evening.  Marilyn seemed flushed and was pretty bloated.

Marilyn Visit 10-21-08

Marilyn was sleeping when I went in this evening, as soon as I called her name she woke up.  She seemed alert and was able to verbalize some this evening.  We talked about her trip to the hospital yesterday and she smiled and rolled her eyes.   Read her mail to her and hung card up.

Told her that her sister Dee’s hip surgery went well.  We talked about gas prices, the up coming election and the economy.  Try to at least keep her up with what is going on in the outside world some.

Marilyn appeared a little bloated in the face and stomach.  She said she had a bath today.  I checked her ankles and they did not have any sores or bandages on them.  Marilyn complained that her left ear was hurting, got the nurse and she said that she would get her some pain meds.  Was a good visit with Marilyn this evening.

Marilyn Status Update…

I just got off the phone with doctor Wright Marilyn’s doctor at the St. Francis Emergency unit. He mentioned that after treating her for her infections and putting her back on anti-biotic’s they are sending her back to to Inola as of 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. Her Temp is coming down and she is showing signs of improvement as they have attempted to hydrate her by giving her two units of liquid.

Dr. Wright was anticipating that she would be back in Inola by late this afternoon.

Thanks again for your continued prayers and support!

I received a call from Inola today from Gail one of the Inola head nurses she called me today to let me know that they were sending Marilyn to St. Francis with a temp of 104. Gail indicated that Marlyn did indeed ask to be sent to the hospital and that Inola had been treating this for the past few days but had not been successful in bringing her temp down.

I will do all I can to keep everyone posted as to her status!

Thanks again for your continued prayers and support!

Visited with Marilyn yesterday, She was sleeping when I went in but she woke up as soon as I called her name.  Told her I was glad to see she had company today.  She shook her head no, told her that Jane, Barbara and Regina (I think that was the name) was here.  Marilyn said she didn’t remember.  While I was there she kept calling out Help,  asked her what she needed, she said that she didn’t know.  Marilyn said I want out of this hospital, told her she wasn’t in the hospital.  She asked where she was I told her the nursing home, she rolled her eyes and fell asleep again.

Her skin looked good, she was a little bloated but not to bad.  Her dry lips that I observed last time were fine yesterday.

Marilyn Visit 10-13-08

Marilyn was a wake when I went to visit this evening.  She seemed focused at first, we talked about general things.  Then she told me to get the money, asked her what money she said the money that Floyd Jr. owes you.  Told her that he didn’t owe me any money and she said oh yes he does, asked her for what and she said oh never mind forget it.

Marilyn then asked me if the jacket that Margot had made her was still in her closet, I looked and told her that it was.  Marilyn said she wanted me to take it home and keep it there. Told her that with fall here she may want to wear it if she gets chilly.  She then said you just don’t want to take it home do you. Told her that if she still wanted me to take it home the next time I came up I would.

Nurse was in the room taking her BP 170/72 she gave her some anxiety medicine.  Marilyn asked me to straighten her head for her, got the nurse on that one.  Nurse put a rolled up towel under her head. Her skin seemed dry and flaky this evening. Her lips were pretty chapped, put some chap stick on for her.  One corner of her mouth was bleeding from being so dry.  Her stomach was bloated some this evening.  Watered her flowers and changed her calendar to today’s date.
