Marilyn Visit 7-22-08
Marilyn was awake when I went in this evening. When she saw me she said it’s about time you got here, told her I got off at 5.00 and headed straight to see he. I asked her what was wrong and she said get me out of here. I asked her what has happened and she said I want to go home to my own bed. She then said get of the chair, put it back and go get the other chair and put me in it. I told her I could not get her in a chair by myself, she told me to go across the street and get some of the men to help. Several times I tried to change the subject. At one point she started to cry and said help me get to my own bed. After some time she did seem to calm down and told me that Jim and Jane were here to visit and Jr. and Susan came to see her.
I finally got to sit back in the chair by her bed and then she said tell that woman to go away, I asked her what woman she said the one at the end of this bed. I got up and showed her I was the only one at the end of the bed, she wouldn’t have it, finally I turned and asked the woman to go away. Marilyn said good she is gone. I don’t know what she was seeing, if it was a reflection from the sun coming thru the window or what.
Marilyn asked me when Richard would be here, (Richard is her nephew), I told her in about 15 days or so, she said OK. Talked to her about some of the SWBT girls I had seen this weekend and got her caught up with what has been going on with them.
Marilyn then said I am tired of being like this. I told her I could only imagine, she said I have been like this since the wreck. I asked her if she wanted to talk about the wreck and she said yes. We talked briefly about the accident, and discussed the length of time she was in the hospital. ICU and Rehab.
Marilyn was coughing quite a bit this evening, when I was getting ready to leave she asked me to get the nurse as she needed to be suctioned. As I was leaving I told her bye and she did not answer me, again I said bye Marilyn I will be back up in a couple of days and she closed her eyes and said get the nurse. I guess she was mad that I didn’t get help to get her out of there.
It has been quite a while since I have seen Marilyn this disoriented.
