Floyd & Marilyn Update
Floyds Nurse today was again Karla. She said he had a “good” day. No pain medication was administered and he is tolerating his tube feeding much better. All vital signs are stable. Weaning from the vent is not going well, his lungs are still very congested. Dr. Lewis (Infectuous Diseases) said he was pleased with the lab work, but a new strain of bacteria is showing up. He has developed a bed sore which they are treating. His bed was raised to a setting position for a while. He has been very “fidgety” and anxious. Shows frustration and is understandably very tired of being where he is.
Marilyns Nurse today was Barbara. Marilyn had a quiet day after her very busy one yesterday. She did receive one dose of pain medication. She is still very tired. All vital signs are good. She is alert, and her mental attitude is described as “OK”. There was no attempt at “weaning” today. As of 3:30 she had not had any physical therapy. But will probably set up in her chair later today. I gave them Chris Roberts local numbers so that when she has the opportunity to speak again they can get a local friend on the phone.
We thank you all for all you do. A special thanks in Marilyns behalf to The Reiss’ for their very kind offer.

Thank you so much for posting Marilyn’s and Floyd’s progress on this site. It is good to know they are slowly improving and hopefully this will continue. Thank you to all their friends in the area for everything they are doing for them. I am Marilyn’s cousin. She was back to Iowa in June for a family reunion and I did not get to see her then as we were gone on vacation. Tell them hello and that we are thinking of them.
