Floyd & Marilyn Update

Posted in Uncategorized at 4:55 pm by Ron Rosson

Floyds Nurse today is Bobby.  Bobby siad Floyd was doing “OK”.  He is getting pain medication.  Says his stomach area is hurting.  Chest congestion is slightly less.  Weaning is not going real well.  Dr. Kennedy (his respritory physician) set his vent in a mode which makes him have to work a little more.  Lab work shows infection still present.  His white blood cell count has gone from 13k to 20k on the 2 of august to 11.4k today (5 to 10k is normal range).  He spent 2 hrs. sitting in a chair today, but had to be lifted to it.  They did some range of motion exercises.  His mental attitude is good, but he is somewhat anxious.  Small signs of depression.  He is very alert and relates with staff.

Marilyns Nurse today is Renee.  Renee said Marilyn has had an “OK” day.  Pain and Nausia meds have been administered.  She did set in a chair for about an hour and a half.  Therapist did some range of motion exercises with her.  She is alert and responsive, but depressed and anxious.  Her sister Chris is with her today.  Physical therapy and weaning continue.

Thank you for your concern
