Floyd & Marilyn Update
Floyds Nurse today was again Bobby. He said Floyd was making “…a little headway”. He sat in a chair for about an hour and actually put some slight weight on his feet. He has been administered pain medication for pain in his left abdominal area. The medication does tend to drop his blood pressure (around 90 at the moment). He was able to last about 2 hrs on his weaning exercise. His chest x-ray showed no improvement. He is alert and appreciates ice.
Marilyns Nurse today was again Renee. Renee reported that Marilyn was “…a little better” today. Her pain seems to be under control and her vital signs are good. She had some exercise therapy and managed a full eight hours of weaning therapy. Her mental attitude is reportedly “better”. Chris (her sister) left town this a.m.
Both Marilyn and Floyd had several visitors today.

I took Ms. Jackie Davis to the hospital last night about 6:00 and she gave Marilyn a manicure and a pedicure. I introduced them and Jackie asked if Marilyn wanted her to work on her hands and nails and she nodded yes. It was a little difficult working around the bed, but she did the best she could and was very gentle. Marilyn slept through part of it, but was awake and smiled several times when I told her what a nice job Jackie was doing and how pretty they looked. She put on a mild lotion and oil that made her skin look so much better. We were there about 1 1/2 hours and Marilyn didn’t want us to leave, but I told her I would be back soon and she seemed okay with that.
I didn’t make it over to see Floyd last night, but I knew thay had both had several visitors for the day.

Aug.23, I was at the hospital at about 10:30 a.m. I visited Floyd first
and the nurse was in his room telling him that he was to be moved to rehab. this afternoon. He seemed in good sprits. I went to see Marilyn
she ask me to get the nurse and she needed pain meds. She was glad to here Floyd was coming to her floor. The nurse said maybe even across the hall.
