Floyd Visit 10-15-07
Was surprised today when I checked the blog that Floyd was back in St. Francis. Went up to visit him this evening. His color was good and he was alert. In fact he seemed more alert than I had seen him at the nursing home on Saturday. That could have been why he kept falling to sleep Saturday due to him not feeling well, although he did not mention that he wasn’t feeling good. We talked for a little while. He had to watch his oxygen levels, so we could not talk for very long. Had to do it in bits. He said that pain yesterday was really bad and he thought that he was going to die before he reached the hospital. He said that as soon as they started to work on him in the ER he felt much better. He will know tomorrow if and when they will do surgery.
He didn’t have an ABC chart to talk with and I got one from the nurse, thought that this would be better than him trying to talk. I got nervous when he took the mask off and was talking and seeing the oxygen level dropping, hard to concentrate on what he was saying. He was glad to get the ABC chart.
He was asking for a calander and I showd him where they have the day, date and year written on the board for him, he said that he had not noticed it there. He was satisfied with that.
