Inola Facility

A comment was posted to this blog pertaining to the distance to the Inola facility being too far and that Dad and Mom were placed in Inola because it is a nicer facility, newer and prettier than the Bixby facility. This comment also made mention that they felt companionship and friendship was more important than “cosmetics”. This post upset me and I can only assume other family and friends that have been deeply involved in the tough decisions that we have had to make regarding Dad and Mom’s care.Let me assure everyone that placing Dad and Marilyn in Inola was one of the toughest decisions we have had to make. The fact Bixby is much closer and more convenient for visitations weighed heavily in this tough decision. Most of you are probably aware we placed Marilyn in the Bixby facility for a week or so before she was moved back to St. Francis. Our hopes were the Bixby facility would work out and they both could be there for everyone’s convenience but more importantly the additional “companionship and friendship” Bixby would provide them.Without going into the details there were many factors that led to their move to Inola. We certainly took into consideration the fact due to the distance there will be less visitations. We can only hope people will make the sacrifice as often as possible and visit them in Inola. I would also like to ask that this site be used for positive comments and not personal opinions. This blog was started to support all of those that have sacrificed so much for Dad and Marilyn.
