Marilyn Visit 3-28-08

Posted in Floyd & Marilyn at 12:12 am by Chris Roberts

Visited Marilyn this evening, she was alert and cheerful when I went in.  Read her mail to her and she wanted her cards re-arranged.  You could hear her verbalize almost every word this evening.  It was great.  Marilyn asked me to bring her a coat from the house, I asked her which one and she said anyone will do, then she said she didn’t need a coat.  A little later she asked me to get her shoes out of her closet in her room.  I showed her there were no shoes there, she was a little agitated with me insisting her shoes were there.  I asked where was she going with her coat and shoes and she shrugged her shoulders and said “I guess no where”.

I noticed that she was coughing a lot this evening, asked her if she needed to be suctioned and she said yes. Went to get the nurse and Marilyn said when I got back in the room, “if she doesn’t hurry up I will have to go up the stairs and get it done”. The nurse came in and suctioned Marilyn.

For a while Marilyn was doing good, her mind seemed clear and then she would talk about something completely different.  I asked the nurse if she was on different meds and she said no.

Changed her calendar to the correct day, we had quite a discussion with what month it was.  Marilyn was sure it was Feb. but we did get it sorted out.

Told her about Al’s surgery and she said that she knew about it that he had called up and said it went well.

Around 7.00 I told Marilyn that I needed to go she begged me not to leave, I stayed until after 7.30 and told her I would be up Mon or Tue to see her again and she said OK.

Jim and Jane Martin and Doyle Crain had been to visit this week.
